that really is an awesome statement dear beatnick! i looove reading history books and also acting tehnique books, etc. i am getting a book on camera shots and edits soon.

however, i think fiction will always hold the main stage for me, after all that is what my life is all about...telling stories. telling stories through film, stage, instruments, dance, paintings, song, sculpture...every art form is the conveying a story, emotion, or concept. lovely lovely fiction!

being of a mature age, i concentrate more on non-fiction reading even though i do understand the facination with fiction. just started reading LINCOLN LEGENDS-MYTHS, HOAXES and CONFABULATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH OUR GREATEST PRESIDENT by Edward Steers Jr.

a wonderful comment by him on the controversy of the cabin in the shrine in which some subcribe to the notion that it is not THE cabin of birth is as follows: " the cabin has become a symbol representing the pride and affection the people hold for Lincoln. As is so often the case in human experience , it is perception rather than reality that matters, and the perception is that the birthplace cabin is an authentic shrine."

what a wonderful statement! he nailed it on the head.
