Domestication Of The Heart

Her arms were like tree tops, extended
His eyes were darkness drawing her in
Her lashes fluttered, as he lit the flame
Lips caressing, muffled murmurs
Internal desire, penetrating passion, she’s naked in his playground.
Standing in pastures of perfection
her fears broken and crumbled to the ground, she exposed herself to him.

Bewildered she tried to run away and as the wind swept up her hair
She realized his embrace was just a taste of more to come, he kept his fingers upon hers
His smile tamed the feral heartbeat that threatened her survival
Was there anything ever better than this kiss?
His warmth, spreading itself over forgotten flesh that begged for attention
He held her still, and forced her to feel as he spoke
The pain and the pleasure, the hurt and the joy
of the words, “I love you.”
