I Was Once A Queen.

As a child my grandmother had a willow tree in her yard.

It was my castle.

I remember dragging her lawnchairs though the thick, hanging limbs and setting them up like thrones.

I'd built my own little world within the confines of my grandparent's yard.

Our currency was cicada moltings, and a circlet made of willow limbs was one of the most prestigious honors you could be awarded. I had willow-limb baskets and even crafted little brooms from maple branches...with willow leaves secured to them with willowbark.

If nothing else, I had a vivid imagination as a child.

The last time I visited a tornado had taken half of my castle away.
