I Like Writing Poetry
As I sit by the ocean and reflect my life
I think of the man who calls me his wife
of all the pain he sometimes brings
of the times I've thrown our wedding rings
the times we're happy, the times we're sad
the times we're good, the times we're bad
I think of our wedding day it's been a year
of the times we've shared and shed a tear
but in my heart I know too well
that on the past I cannot dwell
so I think of the times he holds me tight
of all his kisses as he says goodnight
the way he strokes the hair from my face
the tenderness of his sweet embrace
the sparkle in his bright blue eyes
like stars that fill the blackest skies
in bed as our bodies touch and entwine
he whispers so softly ' you'll always be mine'
so when he's away and we're far apart
I know that truely we're still one heart
