The Most Extreme Day of My Life

On June 27 I was preparing to go to the most extreme tour of the year, the Summer Slaughter Fest. It had Necrophagist (my favorite band) As Blood Runs Black, The Faceless, Decapitated, Cattle Decapitation, Cephalic Carnage and Beneath the Massacre. I didn't know who the other bands were, I was going for Necrophagist.

I woke up at around 7:30 AM and got dressed. My friends, who are brothers, were at football weights, were coming to pick me up at 9:30. I made some wierd drawings on my computer and listened to Necrophagist. They finally arrived 9:50 and to Tim's house we went.

When we got to Tim's house his mom had made us pancakes. (She makes the best pancakes ever.) After we got done eating Tim and I played Halo 2 for a little and since I don't own or play the game I'm okay, but Tim still makes fun of me. We played about three rounds then we left to go bowling.

We got to Bradley and got some Starbuck's, which I don't like very much and we drove down the street to the bowling alley. It was a nickel a game day so we got three games. At about 1:00 PM we left and went to go pick up some groceries.

We got back at 3:00 and Tim and Matt's mom started making French onion soup, so Tim and I went to play Halo while Matt played Diablo II. At about 4:00 we ate. I was nervous with thoughts like, will I get caught in a mosh, will I get squashed and things like that. There was something I never thought of that happened, though... We left at 4:30.

The show started at 5:30, and we got there at like 5:15. I was getting very impatient waiting for the bands to start. I couldn't determine who the first couple bands were because I was in the very back. After the first two or three bands I started moving up with Tim and Matt not too far behind. We moved back because a mosh opened up and I didn't want to get stuck in it. (I'm like 5 foot 1 and 100 pounds.) The Faceless was setting up and some people left the main area to get a drink, but while they were gone we kept moving up. I was about 10 feet from the stage. After the Faceless was Cattle Decapitation and they were CRAZY! Cephalic Carnage was next and there was a certain type of electricity in the air. During the third song the entire floor opened up and a GIANT mosh pit opened and Matt got sucked in. (Matts a big strong man and Tim is big, like 180 pounds and 6 foot). Tim was holding me back when all of the sudden this drunk guy comes up and pushes tim out of the way throws his arms on these two guys, as to brace himselfs and screams, "I'll protect ya little buddy!" Me and him laughed and headbanged and pushed each other. Decapitated came up and Tim and I went to get a bottle of water. Now it was been about five hours and its like 5,000 degrees plus the heat of the 500 people. I had sweated through two shirts (I forget I bought a Necrophagist shirt as soon as I walked in) and thought I was going to die from dehydration. One bottle of water the entire six and a half hours I was there. Decapitated finished and the 15 minute setup for Necrophagist began. I got very close because about 100 people left. Necrophagist began with a shortened version of Stabwound and transitioned into The Stillborn One. Then stopped and talked and went to Ingnominious and Pale and the Diminished to B. He stopped to tell us how awesome we were. *The entire time of Necrophagist I mouthed every word and had my devil horns in the air. Only Ash Remains and Seven. He stopped, talked. Extreme Unction. Muhammed Suicmez, lead singer and lead guitarist, stopped right before the last song, pointed at me and said, "I dedicate this next song to the little kid in front because hes awesome. FERMENTED OFFAL DISCHARGE!" I just about fainted, but before i could i had about 6 or 7 people lift me up and carry me to the stage. I was amazed. My idol just acknowleged my exsistence, and called me awesome!!!

I walked  out and I had all these people cheering for me and slapping me on the back and shaking my hand. I got in Tim's van and Tim's mom asked who those people were and I said, "I have no idea. I got a song dedicated to me by Necrophagist and everybody loves me." Long story short, BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!!!!
