Cancer 4 Cure

It's been a long five years, but he's definitely back... In addition to this, he produced Killer Mike's new album R.A.P. Music, also due out this month (check out "Don't Die." Mike sounds almost like a young Ice Cube).

Preordered C4C on vinyl and got the digital copy instantly, but the records won't ship until June 5th. At any rate, the album is outstanding.

In addition to the most recent WEAREALLGOINGTOBURNINHELLMEGAMIXXX, I think the direction he's been heading musically can be heard really well in Camu Tao's King of Hearts, even in it's unfinished state, as well as Central Services' Forever Frozen in Television Time. He even samples a 'Mu line in the single The Full Retard. You can feel how he worked out some stuff about Tero's death while doing this record, he was reportedly in a pretty rough place for a while, and there's quite a bit of ferocity and darkness to many of these songs - though not more cynical than his usual... And he's still able to create tracks with beauty, sensuality, and wit.

It's probably a good thing El-P waited as long as he did to make Cancer 4 Cure; he delivered a very polished, mature album. He says he doesn't record anything unless he's feeling it, and it shows that he put 110% into this. An easy biased 5/5.

This album is awesome! Just started listening to it recently and I find myself listening to it over and over.
