A Useful Tool
I find it very helpful to listen to music when I'm upset. When I'm so upset that I just don't have the words to express it music can do it for me. If I'm angry I listen to rock, or sad I listen to slow emotional instrumentals. Even if it's somewhere in between and I don't even know what I'm feeling I can find a song to relate to it. Music is also useful for when I don't want to feel like that any more. I listen to gentler or progressively more and more poppy songs until my mood has changed with the genre. Music can force me to calm down a lot faster than if I were to do it on my own because I have to slow down and follow the song. Music won't help me comprehend what has happened and move past it but it can help me to get into a mood that is more eligible to do so.
