Whoa, you have this all backwards. Everything is not great but the sex. He has taken control of the intimacy in your relationship, creating an uneven balance of power. You are in an asymmetrical relationship. The whole thing is out of kilter.

And it's not you. It's him.

I am a women in a similar situation - yet He requested that I gain 20 pounds!

I work hard to not blame myself yet my self esteem suffers greatly. My man was never very sexual and when he is it is about his needs getting fulfilled.

I am at a turning point where i thought I could handle a sex-less relationship but know realize how negativity this effects the rest of the relationship.

I am 44. 5'7 125lbs. Always been on the thinner side. He is obese which is in part why his sex drive is low.

I understand how you are blaming yourself but please do not. I am trying desperately to not let his low / non existent sex drive effect how i view myself. Lately i have been losing that battle! What a waste of my energy and soul! And i have a feeling he is thinking "Whatever".

you gaining weight will not help. He'll find a new excuse once you gain it. seems like he may have an inferiority complex

There could be a number of reasons he is in-affectionate, depression, low libido, other health issues. Would it be possible for him to be on an anti depressant or other medications that would have this affect?

"Everything is great bar the sex" you reckon.

That is a good place to start a searching and honest appraisal of your situation.

At best, your marriage is dysfunctional enough to have made you unhappy enough to seek out this group. And if you have a spouse who is as otherwise as engaged and supportive as you indicate, said spouse would be well off their arse vigorously chasing answers about why they are so intimacy averse. And your spouse is doing no such thing.

That indicates a fundamental problem in the dynamic. And, it will get worse.

Read on. Your learning curve is going to be pretty steep.

    Tread your own path.

Start working out! It is a great stress reliever. The muscle you gain along with fat lost will cause your confidence to increase. Lots of websites out there to interact with men. Resources are in books, tapes, other people in your situation. You have options!

Tell him really how you feel

A woman needs to be loved, but when he is not in the mood you could watch some **** and plan your night in. Also make it more exciting with costumes and props.

Hey, you can use a *****! Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

You didn't ask for advice so the only comment I will leave is to keep reading the stories on here.

Be be warned, once you dip your toe into this particular pool your thinking will start to change - and that can lead to changes in the status quo - which can be quite upsetting to those who have a stake in keeping the status quo because it benefits THEM.
