He no longer has control. NOt loving someone is a form of control and abuse.
A man or woman that shows no love to their mate for years has no place to say anything. What do they expect? Im not a nun. I have been starved of affection and sex for years. Never thought i would have an affair, and never thought I would be married to a man who didnt want sex. Both are screwed up situations, but im outta of it soon.
Im lableled alot of things by people right now. Mid life crisis, *****, on drugs, etc etc. unless these people walk this rode they dont have a damn fkn clue.
it gets hard before it gets better, but its worth it , compared to the pain in staying unhappy.
Im just a normal 41 year old woman that loves with all my heart and expects love in return.
If my next relationship has any hint of sexual disfunction , im out!!!!

Well, given the circumstances he would call you THAT, wouldn't he? He's hurting and it is just a tediously obvious way of trying to hurt you back.
It does nothing in his favour but he knows that his bridges are well and truly burnt, so it is no skin off his nose, so why not have a last pop at you? Forget the notion that he can't withdraw with at least some of his dignity intact. To be honest, that is pretty damn hard for any of us to do in the heat of the moment and maybe, just maybe, a luxury that we catch up on in the settling of the dust thereafter.
You know that you ain't a *****, no matter what appropriate label you might want to put on your affair and what's more, he knows that you aren't a *****, but figuratively slapping you in the face that way does make him feel momentarily better. He will get beyond it and if he is even half a man he will apologise to you down track, once he accepts that he made his fair share contribution to the situation. If he doesn't, all it tells you is that you have more reason to know that you are making the right decision.

In fairly short order, once you are out, no one will give a **** what he said - least of all you.
In fairly short order, once you are out, no one will give a **** about the labels other people threw about before they promptly forget about you and settled in to watch "American Idol" and send each other inane messages on their smart phones.
Be the "happy" bad guy for the short while it takes for the label to wear off.
Tread your own path.

If you are so inclined and have the means, it's possible you might make a new start in another town/state where you have no past.
But in any case, these people are not worth bothering with. Do none of them live in "glass houses"? I doubt it.
