What I Miss.

Due to Family situations I am residing in the mid-west. What a stagnant place it is for me. Oh well  I'm not going dwell on that, instead......................
Its afternoon and I am walking down the Pacific Highway, I'm right by the County Admin Building I am waiting to cross the street and I push the button to walk........Cheep, cheep, cheeep, or cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo eminates from the crosswalk unit---I Love It!!! yes, small things for simple minds but now where I live its--- 10!,9!,8!.....1! Cross Now! Cross Now! I feel like I'm either in the Shuttle or being drilled by a Sargeant in the Military. How utterly and totally unimaginative, dull,  and boring! Its the little things that count--someone in San Diego took time and made a mundane experience just a little nicer. So lacking here. Most people probably either are so use to it or don't pay any attention to it. Its like smelling the flowers, Which I do, out in San Diego. I miss the scent of the Sage as well and would you believe it, the smell that comes off the sidewalks when the sprinklers are on. Mind you when I come out to relax, I stay in a Motel on Pacific Highway under the flight patterns and just yards away from the Amtrak, Coaster, Trolley, and BNSF plus all the items that Pacific Highway offers up. I lived in the country in the midwest and nothing was more depressing than a sunny, cold Winter day with absolutely no sounds---might as well be 6 feet under as far as I'm concerned. Speaking of the finality, I want have my ashes spread around the The Balboa Park Inn, I stayed there one time and fell in love with it and the city all over again. I would stay again but when its time for me to leave it is always so difficult and I wind up crying in the restroom on a northbound Surfliner. So I walk by by it, smile and give thanks that I had the pleasure of staying there once. Love can come it many forms....................
