Unseen Disabilitiies

I'm one of the people who has Irritable Bowel Syndrome.  It hit me when I was a small child, and got worse when I was in my 20's.  There are many kinds of IBS, and some of them are very serious, indeed, like Ulcerative Colitis.  My kind is nothing but diarrhea.  I carry extra clothes and a plastic pail with a tight fitting lid in my car, for as every IBS person knows, it's stupid not to.  I know where all the friendly bathrooms are, and know how to talk my way into just about any other.  The fear is losing it in public.  I have done so once, and I was fortunate I had my cell phone in my pocket, and my husband handy,

Nobody knows what causes the digestive system to change it's behavior, but the latest figures put the total affected somewhere around 35 million Americans, with the numbers increasing every few years,

The American Institute of Heath and the Centers for Disease Control are working to solve this spreading problem that embarrasses the patient and results in many lost work days every year,  Insight is being gained all the time, and medico researchers believe there is an immunization out on the horizon.

As averyone knows, being able to go out of the house would be a blessing.
