It'll Work Out Anyway

or so I hope. I watched (watch) my mom suffer, and tricked myself when I was younger into thinking I wouldn't have it as bad as she does. Now I'm getting older, and turns out I was wroing! (ha ha???). So, I'm trying this out. Doctors don't really want to help because, well, I don't know why. They try for a while, then shrug, and smile, and walk out of the room. Can't blame them I guess. Anyway, I saw this website and thought why not? I'm 25 now, and thought it might be nice to find support before I'm completley decrepit. (okay, thats too negative maybe......uhm.....but it's true so, yeah.) The pain is out of control, and I'm sure everyone here knows about invisble diseases. pretty bad. but, like it says on top, it will work out anyway. I hope.

Hi GetOutfast,

I also watched my mother suffer and now I too live with chronic pain, ongoing depression etc. and last year I attended a Chronic Pain Clinic at a Physical Rehab Hospital for a number of weeks.

I have 18 years on the clock more than you. I am a pretty fit and was formerly a very active person (though I am finding new ways to get active) so you can imagine that no one believed I was dealing with chronic pain.

What did they say at this clinic?

It was a program that dealt with you learning how to develop life coping strategies for dealing with pain. The brain is a very interesting thing and it can be convinced of all kinds of things both real and imaginary, good and bad.

First things first. Go green find some trees and fresh air.
