I'm actually married buy my husband and I have been living separately for 2 months now.  I'm a new person, the old me is back after 14 years of emotional abuse.  We are still functioning as a married couple but we live in different houses.  He wants me back but I have clearly stated I won't be going back until I'm sure he's received the help he needs to deal with his issues.

    You are so right, this is about 6 months down the track and nothing has changed. He wants to move back and hasn't done anything to help himself. I applaud you for being so strong and sticking to your guns!! You're an inspiration

    I went through this too, he won't get the help he needs, believe me. He will promise and you may go back, but it will just fall into the same pattern again. I left for good and divorced my ex, he still is emotionally and verbally abusive, I just hang up the phone and call the police now.
