Rail travel is wonderful. I am old enough to remember the end of Prime RR travel. When one slept in not only roomettes but standard sleeping cars. Eating on fresh linnen tablecloths in sparkling dining cars. Watching hours of beautiful country as we steamed across America. Many happy memories. Yes there some long distance trains still running today, tho nothing like the amount in the past.

I enjoyed your story. I visited New York for the first time last November and fell in love with it. So much to do and so much to see. We are already planning our next visit

I enjoyed this story of memories; I often think about what used to be! This sounds like a memory of an experience that I think I would have loved to have enjoyed *firsthand*! Thank you!
