Getting Asked For Id At 29 Is Embarrassing

I'm 29 in fact I turn 30 in a few months and I still get asked for id. Some people think I should be flattered because I look younger than I actually am but it's getting ridiculous when my best friend who is 4 years younger than me has to buy my cigs because I have no id to prove that i'm over 18.
I have to remember to take id out with me when I go to pubs and clubs and sometimes the door men stop me and ask to show my id, it is shameful and then they are embarrassed when they see how old I am.
Most people don't believe me when I tell them how old I am and i'm like why would I say i'm nearly 30 when i'm not? I even start to panic if I haven't any id with me when I go to buy cigs, alcohol or even a lotto ticket which is crazy because I am more than old enough.
I know I should be happy that I can pass for someone much younger but it does annoy me a bit and I know I shouldn't complain but sometimes the people that work in the shops and behind the bars should use their common sense a bit more.

    Aah first thing I thought when I read this was "its a positive surely" but I really do see your point now. Must be very frustrating and you've obviously had to grin and bear it for a long time. Still hopefully you used to save a few coins by paying half fare on public transport?? :)

    ya me too .. teenagers and early twenty guys would talk to me using slang thinking i am the same age as they are and when they asked how old I am.. all of them same facial reactions of being shocked or surprised then i feel embarrassed too.. next time it happened id tell tell them right upfront im probably old enough to be your mom :)
