I mean seriously! I really don't look that young, but as the song goes 'I work out!'

Okay, so I went to the local supermarket to buy some beer for the weekend, and got id'd at the grand old age of 45.  Believe me I told everyone who would listen.  Guess what my dear hubby said 'the guy who id'd you must have had a guide dog out back!'  Thanks darling, love you too (cheeky sod)
[n.b in UK guide dogs are US's seeing dogs]

    Too late to tell you now, but your husband (ex-now, I guess, but husband when you wrote the story) may have been quite witty in his remark there, but also an idiot for not appreciating the blessing of having a wife that looks so young.

    Well good for you must make you feel young and wanted , I'd say they guy most likely wanted your age and address etc. to maybe try and hook up with you possibly has a crush on you.

    I get carded too ALL THE TIME. I'll be 45 in 2 weeks. My husband was carded not long ago and he has a head and face full of gray hair. SMH. I think some people do it to be a PITA personally. The don't need id to accept my credit card but they need it to sell me a beer? Yeah, right.

    That's actually quite reasonable given the stupidly strict rules that some places have on what they will accept as valid ID. Looking above a certain age is not a reliable form of ID either.

    You know it could have been one of those people that just card everyone because if they don't they could get fired or the place shut down. Not to sound like a downer, I'm just telling you the other possible reason.

    Congratulations! Yeah, somebody just said that already, but I have to say it. Keep it up, and I hope you still look and feel young and spry for many years to come!



    In my day (listen to that!) they used to say "A woman is as old as she looks, but a man is as old as he feels." If there was ever any truth in that, I don't think it's true now. It's good to both look and feel young, whoever you are.
