18 And In The 8th Grade

Im gonna make this clear I'm 18. I'm a registered voter, I have a job and I have my own car. Yet I'm mistaken for 8th grader. I've even showed people my license and they acquise me of getting a fake I.D. People say its because I have a little voice and a baby face. -_-

I'll be 21 in a few months and I get offered the kids menu, asked constantly "wait... how old are you?" but the best are the looks I get when I light up a cigarette in a public place. My advice if it really bothers you, turn it into something funny. I use it as a joke all the time now. If someone asks I usually just go along with some random age thats completely insulting until it really confuses them. And plus I'm a cosmetologist and I hear older women saying that I'll appreciate it later in life. When all of my friends that don't get carded now, still don't get carded when they're old and I do.. I'll be so grateful ;)

I'm 37, and I still get carded everywhere I go. The bright side, at least for me, is seeing that as old as I am, I'll still get those approving looks from some of the females I've seen from where I live.

I dealt with all that too as i have a very baby face, until I started losing my hair! I just started showing my ID before they asked. Oh well, a lot of people spend time and money to look younger.

You should feel blessed, hopefully you still look 20 when you're 35.
I was asked for my ID into my mid 20's, then they quit asking, then you wonder... Ah, what happend.

I know what you mean! When I went to buy my graduation dress for senior year of high school, the woman in the store was like "congrats on graduating 8th grade!". The funny thing is, I love looking young for 18 because guys always tell me that it makes me really cute.

I completely feel your pain. I am 17 and nobody believes I'm a senior ... sometimes people don't even believe i'm in high school.
