I Look Younger Than I Am
I turned 20 this year and now I've become more aware than ever about how young I look. I've noticed little comments here and there before. People would confuse me as being the younger brother of my younger sister, I would get carded occasionally for R-Rated movies. Lately, I've been finding myself in situations where its become annoying/oddly funny.
A few weeks ago I decided to buy a lottery ticket for the first time and the cashier lady kept asking if my driver's license was a fake. She did eventually give me my lotto ticket, but I don't think she was convinced that I was old enough to buy one.
I applied for a credit card and the associate I was working with looked confused. She then proceeded to tell me that I was too young to be getting one. When I told her my age, she started laughing and said that she thought I was fourteen.
Whenever I'm with my friends at certain restaurants, the waiter/waitress will initially offer us some wine... that is until she looks at me and then asks how old all of us are.
The general consensus when I ask is that I look between 16 to 18. Usually don't care about it until someone points it out. I guess for now I'm going to have to grow out my hair and maybe a beard, maybe that will do the trick. Is there any real positives to looking young when you're a male?
