I'll Remember You. . .

Our dearest friend, Carol, just lost her battle with cancer. Such a beautiful person—so bright, kind, caring and outstanding in every way. She was such a wonderful mother—always there for her children and grandchildren. We’re all searching for a way to say goodbye and for a testimonial to her life.

We had a simple memorial. Her friends and family got up and told us stories about Carol. We all learned things about different aspects of her life that we never knew. We didn’t know that she was the valedictorian of her class in High School. Or, that she helped families during the Viet Nam war. We heard that her high school English students felt like she had changed their lives.

Carol loved words. Carol loved photos. So, the best we could do for her children was to engrave her favorite sayings in a personalized locket watch for them. We felt that the timepiece we put on each of their wrists was a way of keeping them connected to their mom forever. The picture was a family favorite. They were blessed by such a mother and may they be blessed with great thoughts and memories forever.
