Steven

I lost my little brother to leukemia in 2002. He was diagnosed when he was four and died at age 11. It was only two weeks before my 16th birthday.  I donated bone marrow and T-cells for him.  When he died all of his healthy cells were mine and if his DNA were tested(even now) it would appear as though I were in his grave.

Thank you for your kind words. We found out that he does have leukemia, but he has the lesser of the two evils. He has a 150,000+ white blood cell count, apposed to 15,000 at normal. He is doing very well though, today they will start with the chemo treatment. I am really trying to spend almost everyday with him, but life kinda gets in the way sometimes. Thank you again!

steven's life made a big difference while he was here, he changed my life and made me an incredibly different person, and a person that can finally be happy with myself. i miss him everyday of my life, but i know he's in a better place. he was a fine example of 'only the good die young' and touched so many lives that he was a great person at only 11. i'm sure your brother will stay strong and spend every day you can with him bc i regret the days i didn't spend with my brother, not to say anything will happen, but it's good to be prepared. if you need some one to talk to along the way, let me know, i'm here for you.

Goodbye

My little brother passed away from Aplastic Anemia, which is similar to Lukemia in 1987. When he was diagnosed at 5 they also looked for a bone marrow match & put a lot of hope on me being a match. But unfortunately I wasn't. He passed away a few months later. It's a hard thing to lose someone so close & so young. I give my sympathy to you & yours.

it's taken a few years, but i can see how it has improved my mother, brother and me in the way we live today. it was sad, but it had to happen. and thank you

Wow. I am so sorry for your loss.
