Posted Oct 26th, 2007 at 5:11PM My little brother passed away from Aplastic Anemia, which is similar to Lukemia in 1987. When he was diagnosed at 5 they also looked for a bone marrow match & put a lot of hope on me being a match. But unfortunately I wasn't. He passed away a few months later. It's a hard thing to lose someone so close & so young. I give my sympathy to you & yours.
Posted Jan 31st, 2008 at 1:08AM steven's life made a big difference while he was here, he changed my life and made me an incredibly different person, and a person that can finally be happy with myself. i miss him everyday of my life, but i know he's in a better place. he was a fine example of 'only the good die young' and touched so many lives that he was a great person at only 11. i'm sure your brother will stay strong and spend every day you can with him bc i regret the days i didn't spend with my brother, not to say anything will happen, but it's good to be prepared. if you need some one to talk to along the way, let me know, i'm here for you.

Posted Jan 31st, 2008 at 11:14AM Thank you for your kind words. We found out that he does have leukemia, but he has the lesser of the two evils. He has a 150,000+ white blood cell count, apposed to 15,000 at normal. He is doing very well though, today they will start with the chemo treatment. I am really trying to spend almost everyday with him, but life kinda gets in the way sometimes. Thank you again!
