I Lost My Father A Year Ago To Complications Of Leukemia

About a year and a half ago my life changed and it was something I never thought I would have to experience at such a young age. I was done with my sophmore year in high school and ready for summer but my dad had been undergoing some health issues that we couldn't get to the bottom of. Well on June 1, 2010 my dad was diagnosed with leukemia but they told him that there was hope. During this time I had to take over the mom role and take care of my brother n two sisters and try n maintain the family farm. There was a constant rollercoaster of emotions throughout one short month and exactly one month later my hero and best friend lost his life to complications from the kemo. It has been about 13 months n theres not a day that goes by that I don't miss him and wish I could see his bright smiling face. He was hands down my best friend and I have so many characteristics that are just like him. He was loved by our entire community  and was my inspiration. All I ask for is some simple words that everything will b ok and I can get through this....

I am so sorry to hear that, I just lost my father to liver cancer a few days ago too. Like you, he was my hero and I miss him dearly. All of us including my father found out about the cancer only when the tumor burst and he suffered severe pain. This was 6 weeks ago and the doctor said the stage was too advanced and nothing can be done. Liver cancer is apparently a silent killer and is very difficult to trace. He was bedridden since and rapidly wasted away. I take comfort in the fact that he is no longer suffering and is finally free. I know it is difficult for you now especially since you are so young. Be strong and you can pull through this. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need someone to talk to. BIG HUG!!
