A Death In The Family

My mother died yesterday. She was an amazing women, with many demons. An addict, but a mother nonetheless. She was a beautiful woman, and a great mother. She was kind, loving and always willing to give. She would give you her last dollar, even if she was starving. She was that kind of person. I woke up yesterday morning, oblivious to the fact that she was dead on the couch. My sister went to wake her up, so she could watch the baby, but when she went to wake her up she was already dead. Her lips were blue and here body was limp. We immediately called 911 and I proceeded to give my dead mother CPR. The ambulance arrived and did more CPR, tried the shock pads, but it was a negative. They took her to the hospital, but it was too late. It was unexpected, she was healthy. We don't know what happened. She was drinking, and was under the influence of Xanax and, most likely, Ambien. It could have caused her heart to stop, or maybe she had a stroke. She could of choked on her own vomit. I don't know, but all I do know is that she's gone. I loved her, I loved her dearly, and now she's gone. R.I.P. Katherine Upeinieks. You will be missed dearly.
