Rape affects everyone differantly. For some it does not change who they are. But, others its the end of the world. For me it made look at the world differantly now. I now have a beautiful 6 year old son. I love him to death. Even though his bio-dad is a rapist. It doesn't matter. I love him anyway.

Wow. That's pretty deep man. I'm sorry about what happened to her, and also the lasting impact it's had on both your lives. Unfortunately I do understand only too well. What happened to her was so inhumane and repulsive, it's impossible to live a normal life. Seemingly insignificant things remind you of the past and all of a sudden you're back there, going through it all again, terrified. Sex isn't that enjoyable act that other people seem to think it is. To me, and maybe to her, it's like a special kind of torture. It has the ability to paralyze me with fear, and I end up just waiting for it to be over. When you think you might be able to handle something, or start finding enjoyment and living a normal life, all of a sudden you realize how wrong you are. Life will never be the same for us. We've been changed by an experience so brutal that we can't even fool ourselves that we're ok.

Or at least, that's how I see it. I could so easily be wrong.
