High School Deaths
I graduated from high school in 1985 and college
in 1989. We were from a bedroom community of Washington, D.C. That means we were in the ok or better socio-econonomic bracket. I live in CA now, and I seem to be the only one in my group of friends who knows people my age who are dead. I thought early deaths were for people in unfortunate situations, with poor health care, etc. Not so. One more guy died on Friday. He was 45. Another peer is battling brain cancer; she is 44. Every year since 40, I hear of another death. That is too early! Are my h.s. alumni cursed or do my CA peers just have luckier/healthier friends?
