Life is so short and fragile without need to hasten its end prematurely. I tend to feel a combination of sorrow, guilt and anger when I hear of suicide - it's so pointless, and it hurts others. But then I try to step back and not judge. Still there is the emptiness. Only time will heal, and even that falls short.

All my best to you, lovely Sonnet.

I know no words can bring back your friend or make you feel any better. But I'm very sorry for your loss.

Hope that soon comes the day you can think of him and remember all the good things about him and not cry but smile, grateful that you met him.

'A pitiless world where a man can find no solace in the arms of his friends.' So exquisitely expressed, but, in truth, it is not the world. It is a pitiless illness that deprives a man of the ability to find solace where solace is to be found in abundance. It is a pitiless illness that leaves those who are bereft feeling that they should have done more when they were impotent. And its coup de grace? It will make you feel guilty for understanding it.

Be strong. Only those who remain suffer.

Sonnet... I knew this was going to be incredibly hard for you.... I was wondering when the service would be.... I wish people realized how much their friends loved them as I'd like to think they'd never do something so drastic if they understood what a loss it would be to people to not have them in this world.

I'm here if you need to talk. I will be thinking of you today.

Sweetheart... ;-( I don't know the details of what the "friends" did, but you have clearly remained loyal, even in the end... We're here for you if you need us. That black will probably take time. Don't let anyone rush you at all. Do whatever's comfortable -- well to the extent that any comfort is possible... until it gradually is.
