I Love And Need To Write
Nick's POV:
Tonight, as Drew had promised before, we celebrated.
But, instead of celebrating at his house, Drew took me to a club. A club on our anniversary! But, it wasn't just us, a few of our friends came alone, so it was me, Drew, Daniel, Pat, and Cal.
Pat, Cal, and Daniel were all neighbors while Dex lived more close to us. Dex wasn't really the clubbing kind of guy and more of the studying all night even on the weekends type. Sometimes I couldn't help but think he had a crush on my sister, Nyla. And Daniel, well, he had a girlfriend named Anna. The both of us got along really well, since she understood me better than anyone else did.
Anyway, I was pretty much bored the entire time we were there. And the only highlight of the whole night for me was when Drew and the other guys walked over to the bar and ordered this really unfamiliar drink.
I knew that Drew used to drink back in the college days, but he doesn't anymore, unless he went to the club, which obviously was now.
"We'll have some margaritas," Drew said to the bartender "And bottle of Pepsi for her."
"Wait a minute, I wanna have what you guys are having." I protested.
I absolutely hated when the guys treated me as if I were some little girl who couldn't handle anything up to their level, even though they knew very well that I could! I mean, how sexist is that?!
"Sorry, Nick, but I don't think you can handle it." Daniel said to me, which I knew he was going to say.
"Yeah, this drink is for guys only." added Pat.
"Fine, then I guess I'll just tell Mrs. Mallard where you were tonight and what you did." I threatened then.
Mrs. Mallard was Pat and Cal's mother and she was a very strict one at that.
"Oh come on, Nick, don't be like that!"
"I will be like that! Now give me a mangerita or whatever."
"It's pronounced margarita." Daniel corrected me.
"Whatever!"
"Let's her have one guys," Drew finally admitted defeat. "If she thinks she can handle it, then I think so too."
Drew taught me how to drink it. First you gotta put something in your mouth, I forgot what it was, I think it was a lemon. Then, you gotta drink the margarita real fast and shake your head, while doing that.
It tasted pretty disgusting to me at first.
"I told you you wouldn't like it." Drew said to me.
"Let me have another one." I just retorted back.
After having like two or three more, I got like seriously drunk. I wasn't completely aware of anything I was doing, but I could someone hear and understand what the guys were going on about.
"We should've gotten her drunk long before." I heard Pat say first.
My eyes flashed over to Drew and I could see a frown plastered over his face. He wasn't happy, but who knows why.
He came over to me and said, "Come on, I'm takin' you home."
"No, I wanna dance." I slurred out.
Drew apparently wouldn't take no for an answer. I felt him lift me up and carry me out of the club. He put me in his car and drove me home. But, not my home, his house. We lived right next to each other and our balconies faced each other. So, he and I would often climb over to each other's window.
"Mom, Nick's sleepin' over at our house tonight!" Drew called down.
"Ok, I'll call her mom and let her know." she replied.
"Alright!"
Drew set me down on his bed and pulled the covers up.
"But, Drew, I don't wanna sleep! I wanna dance. I wanna another margarita!" I said.
Drew sat down on the bed.
"No, you don't Nick," he sighed. "I never should've taken you there in the first place. It was stupid and idiotic of me and I promise you it'll never happen again."
"Why do you care about me so much?" I asked him, sitting up.
"I don't know." he said softly.
I actually already knew the answer, but I was drunk so for some reason I still bothered to ask.
I giggled at that and laid back down on the pillow. Drew turned off the light and I closed my eyes as he changed his clothes. He then laid down on the pillow next to me and pulled the covers up around him. We always slept over at each other's house, so I didn't mind sleeping on the same bed as Drew, because I knew he would never try anything.
I felt Drew's warm fingertips on my forehead and I knew immediately what he was planning.
I grabbed a hold of his wrist and pushed it away.
"Don't even think about it Drew, I may be drunk, but I'm not stupid."
"Fine, I'll wait." he sighed.
"Good."
I turned over to my side and cuddled closer to Drew, and I felt him wrap his arm around my waist.
I knew that Drew could never like or love me the way that I did, but it was still a lot of fun being this close to him sometimes.
