Love It...

I'm always taking in animals, and taking pictures of nature. I love them both. My cat is probably my best friend, after my mama of course! And nature is beautiful. Amazing, and startling at times. God bless the animals, and keep them from harm!! And keep our world safe as well...

HERE IS THE STORY:

A Whale of a Surprise

Our high speed winding ride through the coastal hills brought a surreal quality of swirling, blurred trees, and houses, intermittently appearing to dance in front of the backdrop of ocean and sky blues. We were not virgin participants to this heady otherworldly travel up the coast of California, but there was a new anticipation of something special about to happen. We jaunted off the road to socialize with people photographing the golden monarchs inhabiting butterfly trees. There were sweet stops along the way to taste our favorite California wines, and a delicious meal, at the base of stories high redwood trees, served to highlight our diminutive place in the vast pool of Nature's genetic history. Satisfied with the special events of our glorious day, we headed toward the ocean to take in the coastal view from a famous lighthouse.

After the tour, we took a trip down sea farer lane through great memorabilia and pictures of the pioneers who built and maintained the lighthouse, but when I entered the picture-window room that looked over the sea, there was a great white jawbone of a ***** whale. Each time I passed by to admire the structure of the great animal, my body warmed and my mind was flooded with pictures of whales washed up on the shore, and of men in ships trying to get a whale out of a net, and of people trying to get a whale out of a shallow harbor. I felt love for the whale that belonged to this jawbone and without thinking, I put out my hand and rested it on the jaw. I heard someone say, I am so sorry for whatever brought you out of the world. Help us, if you can, to understand how to protect your family.

I looked around, there was no one there. It had been my voice talking to an old whale jawbone
marji, I do the same thing! (and I worry about the homeless, too) I had a black kitten for less than 24 hours and my dog got a hold of her. I cried so much. And I heard my puppy (two days before she ate a straw and died ='[) yelping in the woods and I started bawling!

ShyGirl71, I feel the same. You should of seen me when I lost Buddy... the siamese cat that decided I was *his* baby. I cried for hours... I love my pets! They're truly a part of the family.
