I Don't Really Like People...in General

Humans are horribly greedy, evil, vicious and violent.  Not all, just in general.  Animals?  All they ask for is for a little love, some food, and the occasional cuddle session.

I always think back to one of the most beautiful things I've ever witnessed.  I was driving home from work and was passing a small field, where there are usually a couple of horses.  As I drove past, I noticed that the horses weren't alone.  In the field with the horses were about 4 or 5 deer.  All of them eating and hanging out, peacefully.  Not a care in the world.  Two different species, living together in harmony.

You don't see humans doing that.  Humans, in general (again), have proven they can't accept other religions, races, cultures.  Wars are started over different "gods" and beliefs.  Sexism still occurs.  Racism is still rampant in parts of the world.  The Holocaust, Darfur, Israel, I could keep going, but we all know that animals are much more enlightened and loving and accepting than humans (as a species) will ever be.  That's why I'd rather stay in my apartment with my cats than go out and deal with the general public.

I feel like this often. People often do not understand me, but my pets do not care how I dress. If I get up on the weekend and decide that I am just going to go play in the dirt with the dog they do not care. I have had birds groom my eyelashes for me. My dogs are excellent alarm clocks. If I feel bad I still have to take care of my animals so I will always get up and feed animals and walk dogs.

I couldn't agree more - we've become such a destructive and competitive society with little to no regard for one another nor the environment. It seems that the majority of people are nearly always so busy wrapped up in their own immediate needs or wants that they fail to see beyond the moment, seeking instant and now constant gratification. It's quite sickening; observing the innocence of animals is a great reminder of how life should be. Without the obligations and expectations we place upon ourselves and others, there's hardly any time to simply be! Love this post - thanks for sharing ;)

I agree, Love your mentality on this one. People are.. well, people

I too dislike people..i prefer to be with my pets. I have a dog named Peanut and a cat named Rukus. They love one another. they make me feel happy and whole inside and out. But people, they aggravate me, with their stupid questions, actions and mentality.

If only it would be possible for me to avoid people all together but I guess it's not possible. Unfortunately, i am don't suffer from angrophobia...I have to admit though it's nice to find a group of people who share my feelings. It's refreshing, because my boyfriend and family think i am nuts.

I couldn't agree more.

There are indeed some good and great humans. But as a species we are selfish, cruel, egotistical, etc. AND destroying the planet. As a species, we are evil. There are some truly great people, but... I have a friend who calls people that are good "animals". I told her that's the biggest compliment anyone can give a human!

I do know some really great humans.

Hahahahaa! I'm going to be the one who defends the humans! Which is new, believe me! They're not all so bad. I know a handful of great ones :) You're right. In general they suck. But we can't generalise. Positive is the way.

KUDOS to all the above comments. I love my 10 yr old boy, my husband, and parents, but my 7 fur babies are a close second. People can be so rude and mean---animals give a unique love that most don't understand.

I completely agree that there are some amazing beautiful and kind people in the world. I have many of them in my own life. But, if we look at the bigger picture, people are mean.

Cats? They can be mean, but that's only because they want to be fed at 5:30 in the morning and you, well, would really rather stay sleeping!!

Haha. I totally hear you. While I find the occasional good person, and trust me, they're out there, I totally prefer the company of my cats to most human beings. Their selfish desires and greedy tendencies make me so paranoid, but cats... they're not out to destroy you. Well, maybe if you bring a dog in the house (I have two dogs. Certainly the cats hated us for a while). But for the most part, they are the most loving and most pure creatures. Anybody can own a cat. A Muslim, a Buddhist... anyone. it's not like a cat says, "EW! YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN ALLAH! I WILL NOT BE YOUR CAT!" haha

Animals are awesome.
