I Love Art

Van Gogh

My favorite artist is Vincent Vangogh. If I could fill my home with his work I would be one happy lady! MY all time favorite is Starry night (of course) but I love so many others as well.  I was a preschool teacher for 11 years and in the winter we always had one week where the theme for that week on the curriculum was Artists. This was always my favorite week of the year. The other teacher in my classroom and I had so much fun picking out different artists for each day and coming up with activities for the children to do that would introduce a different type of art . We always liked having them do the "splash paintings" to demonstrate  the work of Jackson Pollock. One year we had them all do their own version of Starry Night and it was amazing to see how they viewed the painting !

    I think that's so great - encouraging creativity in young children and actually teaching them about different art styles so they can create a real frame-able piece of work! I have seen some wonderful artwork created by young children online. In fact, sometimes I even pick up certain tequniques from them!

    Good choice.
    I admire the work of Van Gogh, from his earliest works thorough to his later.
    There is a sense of returning meloncholy a permutation to each painting, a longing, a sense of lonliness, yet they are so Vibrant it seems almost a contradition.

    Although I have a limited knowledge about the 'technicalities' of this kind of art, I like Van Gogh's starry night too! And also his sunflower paintings. There's just something with them that makes you think on what the painter would like to convey. You could try browsing Rembrandt van rijn's works if you like. :)

    I really like van gogh. I read a book about and i can not tell u how much he reminds me of myself. He was a talented torment. Im into psychedelic, surrealism and horror art. And also im a huge fan of Dali

    I love Art and VanGogh too and I find it great to read your appreciation of art to be handed down to young ones too. You are doing a tremendous service to your community and its appreciation of art. I thank you for that, and that alone!

    his work is awesome.



    a new book out, or will be shortly: "Van Gogh: The Life" looks interesting. apparently, the authors theorize that his death was not a suicide, but was accidental, the result of a few drunken teenagers playing with guns. can't wait to read it!

    Van Gogh became my favorite after visiting the Van Gough museum in Amsterdam. Many of his lesser known works are masterpieces.

    I like the "Impressionist" painters also. Pollock and Dahli have interesting styles as well....
