The Moon.

The moon is travelling away from the earth. I watch a program and they said that there was some speculation as to wether it's the universe expanding and the moon is going with it, but there were soon holes poked in this theory. If the moon is moving as a result of the univers' expansion, then why are't Jupiter's Moons moving? Also, it's only been recently discovered that it's moving. So it could have been moving for thousends of years. Anyway. Let me know what you guys think. :)

I think Tv programmes like that always start off with some lame "shocking" proposition to get you to watch, and then just go on and on and on exploring various hypotheses that they then tell you have already been disproved so they never mattered anyway. The conclusion is always "we haven't a clue (but we're very well paid for scratching our heads/balls/arses and it beats digging holes for a living)" I hatee programs like that, and now refuse to watch any sciency Tv programs. DX

It did actually go like that, now you mention it. At the start "We are going to solve the mystery of the universe!" at the end "we may never know the mystery of the universe..." It was still interesting though. Personally, I don't think we're ever going to solve the mystery of the universe.

Hahaha, I could have told you that and saved you an hour! XP
I agree, I don't think it is possible for us to get that kind of overview of things, like we're trying to see what the universe is like from the outside.. but by looking at things from our perspective (inside of and part of our universe) I don't think that's possible. ...
however I may be proven wrong. :p
