We have a lot of groups in common...this is NOT one. I hate to fly, unless i'm dreaming.

It seems like it would be awesome to enjoy but I just can't seem to be comfortable with my feet that far off the ground. Mostly I think i'm afraid of falling from the sky at top speed and burning in a fiery inferno of metal and sweaty fat people who don't speak english.

Check out the viper jet. It is a kit that you can buy and put it together yourself. It is the one that i would want if i ever won the lottery. It uses the same engine that it is the tomahawk missile.

I have seen them. Kinda neat I admit. But it is just made to look like it could be a military jet. lol The L-29 was a ground attack plane and the training platform for the Mig-29. Plus I trust Soviet engineering. Like the Kalashnikov it just works. They are ridiculously over engineered and are known for being easy to fly and very reliable.

Ok. i am not that familiar with the military jets. I know that most stuff owned by the military is flown well past the recommended life span. Plus i always wanted to build it myself so that I really knew the plane inside and out. Every little thing that makes it tick.

You have a point. There is a company in the US that restores and maintains them and they are also a broker so I would likely buy it through them. They also do some very cool after market upgrades like brand new avionics and even a stereo system in them. :D

Well it would require winning the lottery at this point. They go for between 200 and 300 thousand.

I can see the attraction. A friend of our has a plane and we have been for rides to Berlin, Paris and Edinburgh. Small planes are amazing.

    Go for it!
My interest started with learning to fly real life sailplanes.
I have flown cross country and completed Silver C qualification.
Flying a RL microlight at Popham was back to the days of "Biggles"
For virtual flying must master the helicopter in Flight Simulator X !!!
Will try the MIG's if I can get my Saitek Yoke, Pedals and Quadrant to work properly!
