The Greatest Game Ever Invented

It was December of 1891 when James Naismith created truly my early childhood love...the game of Basketball...Little did Naismith know that in his invention of the game would it bring about a demonstration of grace that we all appreciate

The grace of a Magic Johnson "no look pass" that would lead to James Worthy flying through the air for a finger roll finish

The grace of Larry Bird releasing one of the most purest shots that always seemed to find the net

The grace of Julius Erving, aka Dr J who could fly through the air as he was able to perform amazing feats of athleticism

The grace of Isiah Thomas the man with spell binding ball handling ability.....

The grace of Michael Jordan, the man people would simply call "Air Jordan", who seemed to capture an entire generation with his grace and skill on a basketball court

These greats would merely see their grace taken to levels beyond with stars such as Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Allen Iverson, Kevin Durant, and the list is endless

Juxtapose to the grace that basketball offers, there's the power which seems to enhance and even compliment the graceful feats of the game

The Power and strength of Shaquille O'Neal

The Power and strength of a Dominique Wilkins windmill dunk

The power of watching the relentless Moses Malone will his way to rebounds through power and determination

James Naismith..did you envision this game, that would capture imagination, and ideas and would become the perfect embodiment of grace and power

I saw the Bulls play the Lakers in the late 80s. I thought it was cool then, but I had no idea it would turn out to be one of the greatest events of my life!
