Retirement Is All It Is Cracked Up To Be And Then Some

I have been happily retired nearly 5 years now, and they have been the best years of my life, health issues aside.  When I retired, I was burned to a crisp, after years of stress and bulls**t at my place of employment.  My DH and I are free to travel around the world(more amazing than I ever dreamed possible),sleep late, rise early, do what WE want, noone to answer to,etc. We eat healthy, exercise, (yes, and take our medications), and I knocked off almost 100 lbs. since I retired, which was a huge accomplishment after many centuries of yo-yo dieting.  We are truly grateful and cherish each day we spend together, knowing the days  grow shorter but realizing love is forever. That is the greatest gift!!!! Do you agree?

i agree entirely with your comments on retirement. No boss to answer to any more and the whole day is your own to do with as you wish. I am sorry that in the UK young people today will not have the benefit of retiring as we do.Why save for retirement when they will have to work until they are 70 years of age. Of course these changes in their life will not affect the politicians who make these demands on young people. All the best to you and yours.
