I Love Bluegrass
I've been a big bluegrass fan since high school. There was a couple guys in school who would get out in the courtyard and play during lunch. After high school, I bought a banjo and started to learn to play myself. I never got good at it, but went on to buy a fiddle, and mandolin later. Never got good at them either but still love the music. Being so shy and mostly a loner, it's something I can do on my own. That is listen, learn, and go hear live music at festivals. It's hard to find people in my area who like bluegrass music. I guess when you try to play it yourself you have a different appreciation for it. You can recognize the skill in others and know what it takes to play good music. Anyway some of my favorites are: of course Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver. (I think they put own the best live show of any.), Cherryholmes is next. (Love to watch how they work the stage. Very professional), Balsam Range, Hard Ryde (a band out of Canada, very good), Grasstowne, and many others.
