I Spent Some Formative Years In Louisiana

And my father was born there. I love Cajun food. But I can never block out the memory of my MawMaw cooking blackbird gumbo. I was four, maybe five. There was a huge pot on the stove, and I was curious as to what was in it. I pulled a chair over, and nearly fell out of it when I saw dozens of tiny bird bodies floating around in the pot. I still can't eat it to this day, although blackbird jambalaya in another story....
