I Love Cats
let me state for the record that this is by no means a softening in the relationship between my S.O. cats and myself . How ever over the past few weeks I have had the time whilst doing bits and bobs around the house and garden to observe Smudge , Maddy and Nicky in their attempts to capture one of the many different kinds of birds which are frequent visitors to the many feeders etc which I have placed around specifically to annoy said moggies. Smudge,s attempt to catch one of the crows which nests in the big old oak tree at the bottom on the garden was hilarious , it began with a patrol round the perimeter of the hedge and a few minuets under the garden furniture all the while Mr crow is on his usual branch watching and cawing at her for all he is worth .Then she makes a show of crossing the garden and climbing on top of the garage and perching herself at the far end looking out into the front garden for her friend Fidget like her another long haired moggy, ignoring the bread that I had scattered on the roof . Mr Crow choose his moment well seeing that Smudge had her back turned and was busy nosing at all that was happening in the front garden swooped down at the other end of the garage hoped up behind her and cawed so loudly that madam the great huntress jumped at least two feet in the air right off the top of the garage and into the front garden below , then proceeded to sprint round to the back door ignoring my laughing as she sprinted by me muttering as she went .
I believe I have been witness to a wonder of nature,an embarresed cat and a laughing crow .....
