I Met A Special Kitty Named Adam Today.

I was walking about Nashville today and decided to stop by an eccentric little shop that sold antique and handmade jewelry. As soon as I stepped inside I was greeted by a pint-sized grey tabby. I reached down to pet him, and he happily butted his face into my palm. When he turned away I realized he was bowlegged, and his back legs were about a quarter shorter than his front. He walks with a bit of a hop and a skip, and I coudn't even find it in myself to feel sorry for this very happy little guy. The owner of the shop told me his name was Adam, and that he was rescued from a shelter. I never asked what his condition was, because to him it doesn't really matter. He may not be able to jump up on your couch, but it doesn't stop him from being happy, or getting masses of attention.

Adam is one very special kitty and it made me realize how much we can accomplish if we don't feel sorry for ourselves and just make the best of what we have. I am very  thankful to have been allowed to be loved by this little guy.

I love the story and the comments are so true. I can't add anything more. From a cat lover and owner of four.x

I completely agree! I've met some very special kitties at shelters, but I've also seen some of those same babies put to sleep because they'd been there too long and no one wanted them. I wish more people would take the time to look at shelter cats as pets, rather than getting purebreds, and of course get pets spayed or neutered so there will be fewer kitties in the shelters to begin with!
