Can't Live Without It

When I was a young kid, I loved the aroma of a freshly brewed cup my dad had made. My mom always said to me that it's not good for me all the time and that it'd make me too nervous. She still says that to me to this day. My dad drinks his coffee black. Once in a while, he'd let me drink some, but the sharp taste always hits hard enough for me to dump loads of sugar and cream into it.

It wasn't until college that I started drinking regularly. Just like when I was young, I put in loads of extras in it to neutralize the taste. Eventually, I got down to only a teaspoon of sugar and cream. I drink it every morning to get through school or a full day of work. It's a daily routine. If I have extra cash, I'd go to Starbucks and order, "grande, nonfat caffe latte or caffe misto with 2 Splenda, please." These days, I stopped taking in the exotic coffee drinks and stayed with the regular. Maybe ten years from now, I'll have my coffee black just like my dad.

Coffee always relaxes me and gets me going through busy or hectic times. I can't live without it.

Try Bach's Coffee Cantata...about a young girl who loves coffee but her father wants her to give it up!
