I Love Cold Stormy Nights and the Wind Howling
That is exactly what it has been like the past two nights. We also got quite a bit of snow! Its a little eerie cause there is very little activity going on outside & its the weekend.
Fortunately, we haven't lost electricity, or heat or anything valuable depending on whatever damage we find from the howling wind, as of yet!
I love to add to the seclusion with Classical music, Delicious aromas, a Challenge to make my day interesting, like trying a new & different recipe which also gives me the opportunity to put the oven on...
On Saturday I made something for the very first time. Apple Dumplings, which are basically baked apples w/a little brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice & butter combination in the cavity but the interesting part was making from scratch a dough to encase the apples in. The aroma was intoxicating & the apples were simply delish.
Later in the day I had planned to roast some chicken & vegetables which I do often enough but this time I decided to use my clay pot which I haven't done in who knows how long. I got the pot then soaked it in water for a while then prepared my meat & my veggies. I arranged everything in the pot, added some burgundy Mouton Cadet & a bouquet of fresh herbs. Again the house was bursting in colorful aromas creating an ambience of sensuality, relaxation, comfort & intoxication.
Before u get too excited or jealous it was pretty much wasted on just me, myself & I... LoL
