I Love Collecting Books

Hundreds

I have saved every book that my first born owned and we are constantly adding to the list. I know we have hundreds on the book shelf and all within reach of the children. I encourage them to read or at least try and hope that it teaches them to love books. I read to them always and then have them 'read' it back to me in their words. I feel it helps their creativity and shows them that books are fun!

    As a parent and a school teacher, I believe one of the greatest gifts we can give to our children, is to teach them to read, and help them to find the joy in it.

    I have the same problem. I think it started when I was a kid I aways wanted my own library. I dreamed of having walls of mahogany shelves full of books and one of those ladders with wheels.

    I think that might have something to do with my enormous book collection.

    You sound just like me! I also cannot bear to part with books, especially ones which have been loved: as will witness two garden sheds, the garage, the loft and, of course, the numerous bookcases all over the house!
