My Favorite First Date

I think the best "first date" experiences I have had, involved sitting together and talking. I mean really talking and sharing, not chatting or making small talk.

Sitting at a coffee shop and talking has worked well for me. I think you can get a real sense of a person when you sit down and talk. Sometimes that sense tells you there won't be a second date, but that is ok too.

It is not that I sit down with a new friend with the intention of having a deep, real discussion, but sometimes the two of you click or you happen upon a topic you both are passionate about, it can be revealing, interesting, exciting. I love good conversation.

Sometimes it's a form of love just to talk to somebody that you have nothing in common with and still be fascinated by their presence. ~David Byrne
