The Happiest Place On Earth!

I mean really... my last experience at Disneyland was the only one I've had as an adult. I found that going there with my children, I was able to fully appreciate the wonder that is that place!

Yeah, the lines were long... but no matter where we went, or how long we stood in line every person around us seemed to be cheerful, and completely enjoying themselves.

The way that the park staff runs the place amazed me. Every single employee we had the pleasure of interacting with was friendly and courteous. During the nights fireworks display, I was holding my daughter and looking up at the sky. A Disney employee was walking around, and she got my attention and pointed behind us. At that point, Tinkerbell was flying through the sky behind us. I was floored!! Here she was, just doing her job, but took out a few seconds to point out what we were about to miss.

During parade time they begin placing ropes, instructing the crowds to sit on the curb so as not to block the view of those standing behind us. The preparations started, and were cleaned up like clockwork. 5 minutes after the parade was over, it was as if nothing had ever happened.

It was exceptionally clean, I was constantly surprised with how clean everything was.

They even have this little... nursery type place. We realized after we arrived that we had forgotten my son's diapers at the hotel. OH No! Tragedy you might think... nope, not there. We were directed to the nursery where there were women wearing old timey nurses outfits, and you could purchase diapers of all sizes. There were changing stations, nursing stations, bathing stations, and even tiny little toilets perfect for toddlers! The "nurse" there explained to us that the nursery had existed, and remained completely unchanged from the first day Disneyland had opened, in 1955. It was amazing!

All in all, we spent 2 full days, open to close at Disneyland. I can't wait to go back again!!

Actually we were planning to go to Orlando this summer, but then Faiths dance troupe qualified for nationals this summer, which happens to be at Disneyland over the 4th of July. We are driving out and back, going one way out and the other way back. Gonna cover all of the SW and NW part of the US.... At least a three or four week road trip. We are going to do the total tourist thing, catching all the sites as we go.... I figure that this will be a once in a lifetime trip for us,so we might as well treat it as such. We are planning on a month in Orlando next year, maybe we'll see you there!

Great story, Katy. I can't wait to take the kids this summer. Faith is soooooo excited to dance at Disneyland!
