I Love Drinking Wine
New York State's Finger Lakes region offers a large number of local wineries. The soil, the weather, suits the growing of many different types of grapes and the production of many different types of wines.
I have a number of favorite wineries in the area that I like to visit. Each one is special in its own way.
The wines are great. Personally I prefer the sweeter, fruity wines. Peach, apple, berry blend, strawberry, and then the different types of grapes that are used.
We often go on "wine trail" outings. Where a group of wineries will get together and create a special event or outing. Selling tickets that are good for all of the wineries listed ( normally around 10 or so ) It could be a cheese and wine event. A chip and dip type event. A plant and herb event. Each one includes some type of finger food and a selected wine to go with it. You sample the wine. And if your like me. You will buy a bottle or two here and there. Our normal take home amount is around 5 to 12 bottles each trip. And we do a few trips each year.
We use some of the wine as gifts. Share with friends. Our just enjoy it ourselves sitting in front of the fireplace in the colder weather. Or outside by the fire during nice weather.
Talking about it makes me want to plan another outing to the wineries.
We always have such fun.
