The Best Part Of The Day

I have spent the majority of my life getting up at 4:00 am for work. It got to be such a habbit that I was usually awake about 10 minutes before the alarm went off. Even on weekends I still got up early. Today I am retired, and don't have any obligtions to get me up but I still do. One of my most favorite things is to fill a large cup of coffee, and go out onto my deck. I live up in the hills without any close neighbors, so at 3:30 am itis usually pretty quiet, except mybe a howling cyote or two. Then after a couple more cups of coffee the eastern sky starts to turn gray. Then a bird chirps from one direction followed by several more chirps from a different direction. Then maybe a car sound from the highway, sounds can travel a long way that time of day, or maybe I just notice it better. It is like I am getting to listen to the world wake up. If you haven't had the oppertunity to try it I do highly recomend it. Once you do I bet that getting up early is a lot easier.

Of course now that I am retired it's not uncommon to take a nap about 8:00 or 9:00
