It is too bad we can not do E-mails in ink! I fear that writing will soon disappear. So, let our fingers remain ink stained.

I like them too, but somehow the ink always seems to go through the page or end up all over my fingers. My grade 5/6 teacher made us write with fountain pens, and for 2 years, the thumb and forefinger of my right hand were blue.

I do, however, regret that modern pens are so HEAVY.....I understand that when Joe CIO springs for a new desk-toy that he'll use to sign his name once and then never use it again, he wants to feel like he's getting his Amex-card's worth, but I love fountain pens to actually WRITE with! That's why, Joe CIO, that old fountain pens are LIGHTWEIGHT, so you could write for a long time without handcramp.

And hey, I can't complain, the folks who buy pens for desk-toys are partly responsible for the resurgence in interest in fountain pens!

    I agree whole heartedly!!

Sometimes I enjoy seeing how long I can use one during a day or week without reverting back to those nasty ole ballpoints! Who cares if I have to refill the ink in the middle of a project.
