New Found Love

I always thought KFC was what fried chicken was about. Then while visiting my friend in Memphis I ate at Gus's (see website at the bottom) and it changed my fried chicken life forever. If you ever have a chance to eat here there is really nothing like it. Now I know why Country singers write songs about fried chicken!!!! Anyway- I don't know how to make it (on teh account of being californian and raised by vegetarians) does anyone have any helpful tips for frying up something amazing?

I have a food dehydrator too :) and crock pot. I think i am kitchen gadgety like you lololol . . My main three are rice cooker, toaster oven, microwave, then or course the good ole frying pan on the stove.. lolol .. I have been thinking a long time about the Nu-Wave oven that is supposedly big enough to cook a 10 i think pound turkey in. All the food on the infomercial turns out perfectly of course. i guess for around $99 they are worth it .. hmmm :)

Good advice! I'm a huge fan of my food dehydrator and my crock pot! I'm kinda kitchen gadgety.

Hmmm you make me wish i was closer to Tennessee hahahhaa.. gus's sounds good. The only suggestion i have is to try frying the chicken in a Frydaddy deep fryer? Maybe you can borrow a friends to see if you like the way it turns out. I don't have one myself but maybe i should invest in one. I recently (within the past 6 months or so) got a rice cooker and i cook rice and oatmeal and even pasta in it. It is an amazing invention for the fact that i don't have to stand over the stove and watch and stir these things that you normally have to do that with. So anywhere from 10-20 minutes depending what you are cooking, set the kitchen timer and you have your perfectly cooked bowl of whatever :) .. love that little machine .. xox
