My Little Buddies

for as long as i can remember, i prefered frogs, toads, lizards and turtles to anything that had fur. i've had 2 aquatic dwarf frogs, named boudreaux and tibadeaux, for 3 years now. they have great personalities and love it when i take the top off their habitat and talk to them. i have recently purchases an egyptian green toad, and named him rah. he is currently 2 inches long, but should grown to be around 6 inches. all my friends think i'm nuts !...lol.

Omg! You must be from Louisiana? Boudreaux and Thibodeaux? I adore frogs and so does my fiance. Our bathroom has all froggy things down to the bathmat and I have all kinds of frog stuff. I was born and raised in New Orleans, living in texas now but getting ready to move home to Baton Rouge...it's a small world!

nice:) i love the furry animals too but have taken much pleasure in watching turtles, lizards and frogs. i don't have any turtles nearby just now but have a few varieties of lizards around the gardens. i love the bearded dragons who sit so still and 'play dead' so well it amazes me.
a friend's baby lizard curled up in the palm of my hand and actually snuggled into it! fascinated me.
people around me seem to find the sound of the frogs in the pond annoying, like water torture, of a night. i find the sound so soothing and feel everything is well in the world to hear a little pobblebonk doing his repetitive 'bonk' sound at intervals. at least that's who i think he is. have never seen him but am identifying him from his sound. reminds me of the sound of the bamboo water features where the bamboo fills up with water and makes the sound as it fills and tips over.
i always set a pond garden just outside the bedroom window. unfortunately for my neighbour at my last house that was also near to their bedroom window and they did not enjoy the sounds as I did.
