I Love Full Moons
Tonight, February 7, 2012, is a full moon.
I have always enjoyed looking at the night sky. I find it very calming to watch the stars. I enjoy looking at the moon. I think it is God's way of letting us know that he sees us at night. When I was growing up, I thought that during the day time everybody could see you and so it was easy to look out for each other. But, at night, it is hard to see people so God put the moon in the sky to look out of us. He put the stars up there too because, as I understood it from my childhood, when someone dies even though their body goes into the ground, their spirit goes up into the Heavens and becomes a star. That is why I always knew that my mother could see me. She was in heaven and was able to see me at night. All I had to do was to go outside. To me the full moon symbolizes the greatness of those who have passed on. It is like their energy has been transferred from Earth to the Heavens and is on display in one huge ball. This is how I saw things as a child because I didn't understand geology and astronomy back then.
Even though I understand it now, I still love looking at a full moon and the stars.
