I Thirst For GOD

( )I posted this story a year ago. And since then I have realized a lot more than I did from that time.

For One, I realized that Yes, I REALLY AM a "CHRISTIAN" =)

- I realized that one can find God wherever there is spiritual truth... a lot of spiritual truth can be found in the Christian/Catholic Bible, it can also be found in the Jewish Torah, the Buddhist Darma, the Muslim Quran, heck even in Socrates and Confucius teaching!
But of course there are those who will say, "In no way you could possibly be a "Christian" for what you just described is complete heresy!!!!

The majority of Christians want to believe that spiritual truth can only be found in the bible and no other sources... for the bible is the ONLY SOURCE? The bible does have spiritual teaching, but it's teaching is there so that it may help us become spiritually matured. Once a person becomes spiritually matured they will have a thirst that will direct them towards spiritual truth, from within their heart thirsting for GOD...

When You have learned the spiritual teaching that allows you to become spiritually matured... directing you so that Your Heart Thirst for GOD, for spiritual Truth. You allow CHRIST/BUDDHA/KRISHNA/ALLAH/ETC... to be in you as you are in GOD.

Matthew 6:24
"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon"

The Majority of the people living in this world Obviously do not serve the One TRUE MASTER "GOD/SPIRIT"; for whom they serve is the FALSE MASTER the "EGO".
The "Ego" is the Father of Lies the destroyer of truth, for it is he that draws us away from the TRUE MASTER, the Indwelling CHRIST.
Look at the world we live in, the separation of people, nation, governments, etc... The master in whom they serve is the "Ego"... so what is the answer that their master tells them whenever they have a problem? WAR!!!!

Luke 17:20-21
As Jesus Said "Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you."

Matthew 18:3-
As Jesus Said “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."

- A child is without "Ego" therefore a child TRULY IS with GOD until it grows up and decides to live in SIN/EGO which denies the SPIRIT/GOD.

Philippians 2:5
"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus"

John 14:11
As Jesus Said "Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me" that he and I are one.

Allow Christ inside your heart just as you are in Christ. You and CHRIST must Become ONE.
When you do this, your heart and mind will be Completely transformed!!!!... YOU WILL BE "RESURRECTED" like unto a Child... without "Ego".

God Bless you all.

I agree with you. The way to God can be found in all religious/spiritual teachings. We only have to seek him, and we will find him. It doesn't matter whether you're Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, or any other religion, or none, God is always there and He will find you, and you will find Him.

Biblical history truly is fascinating; one should research a man named "Irenaeus" to understand a bit more about the Bible history. =P<br />
<br />
People are always preaching about the sound doctrine, the solid teaching of the Holy bible and yet don't even know the history of what influence the Canon to be what it is today.

Many so called Christians believe that they are doing God's work and practice of his law but in truth they are Just like the Pharisees... who practice LAWLESSNESS.<br />
<br />
stormynightsky- "It's not as if they could ever earn eternal life on their own"<br />
<br />
Actually one who Finds Christ finds ETERNAL LIFE... One can truly find Christ on their Own if they have the Heart that desires for him... they have to feed off from spiritual understanding and reach spiritual maturity.<br />
<br />
The two great commandments that contain the whole law of God itself,<br />
<br />
1. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind, and with thy whole strength;<br />
2. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Interesting discussion this always is! :D Biblical history really is fascinating!! Well, to me! :p<br />
<br />
I do agree with you that many "so called Christians" are living deceived lives in the most tragic of ways, whether they are outright intending to deceive others in putting on a show of "living a righteous life" or whether they sincerely believe they are on the right path makes no difference, because TRUTH is everything. While they seem to many people, to be the ones “most right” a lot of the time, they drive people away from Christ, because people assume that the hypocrites they see and most "religions" are a direct representation of God, and therefore they want nothing more to do with Him! <br />
<br />
Those people who claim to know truth, yet do not practice it are like the "religious" in Jesus' day, who claimed to be righteous, and in doing just that, ironically were so wrong. It's not as if they could ever earn eternal life on their own, by a set of rules they invented…which were ironically not even given by God, most of the law that they followed was written by man. Same for religion today.<br />
<br />
They only followed the law because of their own selfish pride -how it made them look to others... and because their egos depended on it, not out of love for God. If you love God you will keep HIS commandments, you won't invent ways to heaven on your own. Which is essentially what the religious leaders in Jesus' time were doing.

I remember that story! One year ago? Wow huh??? :D I was so new here then!<br />
<br />
Luke 17:20-21<br />
As Jesus Said "Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you."<br />
<br />
But important to remember, that the verse you quote doesn't say "within you" meaning: "inside of you." Actually, "within you" means "within your midst" or "among you." It says: The kingdom of God is "among you" because Jesus was in their midst; with them, speaking with them, and telling them that the kingdom of God is only found through Him.<br />
<br />
All those teachings you listed have some truths in them, yes, but "knowing a good truth" isn't the same thing as being eternally saved, there is a big difference.<br />
<br />
Ironically what you describe appears at first to be open minded and all encompassing, but if a person were to actually act as "open minded" as they claim to be, and consider all options equal, the results would not be good. Example of considering all options, and accepting them all as equal: how to get from the top floor down to the first floor of a building? There are lots of options, true...not least of which would involve jumping from the roof. But acceptance of all options do not lead to the goal, some will only end in tragedy.

:) God is amazing! he gives faith to the faithless and hope to the hopless

I too agree that the Kingdom of God is within us and that we can find God from many sources.
