We had two & 1 died after only a few years. They are suppose to live up to 8. The one that is left is much happier, the other was a bully :)

Hummm. word of advice. Do not let it get loose in the house.

My 2 had one when they were children. They use to play with it and it would stay right there with them. Then one day it decided to explore. After that we never saw or heard it for weeks. We figured it died somewhere and we would find its body.

Nope. On night while watching tv late at night. It ran across the room and jumped/ climbed up on my wifes lap. Scaring the day lights out of her. She jumped and yelled. I jumped because she did. And there was the guinea pig.

We never did figure out where it disappaired to. But the kids were happy to see it back.

Sounds nice... Yes, no doubt, we always say yes to a pet, the children do, but when it comes time to step up, we do it, well, not very well, our intentions are always good, but our completion on said intentions sometimes are suspect... LOL... It is so funny to me, as little kids we want to have pets, tell our Mom and Dad, yes, I will take care of it, you will feed it right, yes, yes, you will play with it right, yes, yes, you will make sure it has a nice warm place to lie right, yes, yes, and you will groom it right, yes, yes... Can I please have it, okay, only if you abide by all the rules we stated, yes, yes, yes, I will... Lo and Behold, just as you stated Miss, our intentions are good, but, sadly, we digress, and the parents take the brunt of its growing pains... :)

Would you indulge yourself in buying 2, if you so decide, or will 1 suffice???... How old are they, what are their names, and do you know, how long they will live for???... :)
